Businesses take note. Light Emitting Diodes (LEDs) are not just good for the environment; they’re good for your business too. Businesses around the world are switching to LED lights for their office buildings and are gaining the benefits of decreased energy consumption, lower energy bills, and more.
LEDs are state-of-the-art light bulbs. A light that once took 60w of energy to run can now produce the same light with as little as 2w. Business owners may be installing LEDs for economic reasons, but they are positively effecting the environment as well.
The Tempe Storage Company in Phoenix, Ariz., contracted Relumination, LLC to update exterior lights of their self-storage units. By switching to LED lights the company has consequently been able to keep prices low by significantly reducing energy consumption. By switching to LED lights energy consumption has been cut from 8,800w to 1,144w per hour. The added bonus of brighter lights has made the facility safer for customers.
LEDs are also making sidewalks safer halfway around the world in Vienna, Austria. The Bayer MaterialScience building has used LED lens technology outside the office to increase the brightness of the pedestrian area.
Switching from traditional bulbs is also reducing greenhouse gas emissions and energy bills. The EPA estimates that nearly $193 million and one million tons of greenhouse gas emissions can be saved if auto dealers cut their energy use by 10 percent.
Joe Morgan Honda in Cincinnati, Ohio, has switched from traditional bulbs to LED luminaires. The 59 BetaLED THE EDGE area luminaires on the 4.75 acres lot has reduced lighting power density by 60 percent.
The Mercedes-Benz of Bellevue has redesigned the lighting in their 47,800-square-foot showroom. They turned to Studio Lux to design a lighting system to cut costs, save energy, and artistically showcase the Mercedes-Benz products. Studio Lux installed LED lamps and sensors that automatically adjust to available daylight to cut costs 40 to 60 percent.
LED technology is good for the environment, safety, and your business’ bottom line. It makes for a win-win-win scenario. Your business is always looking for a way to be one step ahead, and now it can be. Installing LED bulbs is the next step to being budget conscious and progressive.
