• The cost of electricity will vary and increase or decrease over time. The figures used above are for comparison only and are based on an energy cost of $.20 per KWh during the entire period used in this example.
   
• The cost per bulb for LED lights may vary. We used the retail price of $13.99 (for a 2 watt LED light bulb) for this comparison. Manufacture Suggested Retail (MSR) price varies from $13.99 to $21.73 depending on bulb type.
   
• Estimates of LED bulb lifespan are projected, since it would take about 4 years of continuous lighting to test. Some manufacturers claim the new LED bulbs will last up to 20 years under normal household use. Bulb breakage and bulb replacement costs have not been factored into this comparison chart. Incandescent bulbs and CFL bulbs are more easily broken than LED light bulbs, which increases their cost of use.
   
• Most LED lights come with a minimum 2-year warranty with proof of purchase.
